Our philosophy
I believe every child deserves access to a high-quality education, especially during the early years when the foundation for lifelong learning is established. A child’s early educational experiences can shape not only their academic development, but also their confidence, curiosity, independence, and love of learning.
I believe every child learns differently. Because of this, children should not be expected to reach the same milestones at the same pace or learn successfully through the same methods of instruction. Effective education recognizes and celebrates individual differences while providing children with the support, opportunities, and encouragement they need to grow.
My approach is child-centered and focused on meeting children where they are developmentally. I believe educators should adapt their instruction, provide multiple ways for children to engage with learning, and create an environment where children feel safe to explore, make mistakes, ask questions, and develop at their own pace.
Ultimately, I believe our responsibility as educators is not to make every child learn the same way, but to help every child discover how they learn best and provide them with the tools and experiences necessary to thrive.

Owner: Nia Hicks
With over 11 years of experience in education and a Master’s degree in Educational Technology, I have dedicated my career to helping children learn, grow, and feel confident in their abilities. My experience as an educator has shown me firsthand that every child learns differently and deserves an environment that meets them where they are.
I created Brighter Day to provide families with a safe, supportive, and flexible childcare option while giving children meaningful opportunities to learn, play, explore, and build important foundational skills. I believe the early years are critical in shaping a child’s future, and every child deserves quality care and education during those formative years.
Brighter Day was created with both children and families in mind because quality care should be accessible, flexible, and centered around the individual needs of every child.

Education is key; we want parents to understand that this isn't just babysitting.
